Ensuring your automated gates adhere to the latest standards
Hearing all too often in the news about accidents and tragic deaths of children where automated gates were in place made Security Wise Ltd question their duty to existing and perspective customers about the laws surrounding automated gates.
The laws state that every new powered gate, when it is put into service, must comply with the European Machinery Directive (2006/42/EC), especially the Directive’s Essential Health and Safety Requirements, be CE marked and accompanied by a Declaration of Conformity. So we sent our Engineering Supervisor, Jamie Wilson along to Sutton-in-Ashfield to attend the a course on Gate Safety.
Ran by DHF (Door and Hardware Federation), the course took place over two days and focused on technical and practical safety procedures. The DHF Gate Safety Diploma covers all aspects of gate safety from initial risk assessment through to force testing. After passing with flying colours we are now pleased to say that Jamie is fully conversant with all relevant safety regulations and can issue a Declaration of Conformity.
If you already have gates which require a risk assessment or would like a quote for new, call us on 01743 450222 and we can arrange for Jamie to come and discuss your requirements with you.
